Origin: There are over 200 species of this spider. These are the most common spiders to be found in cold climates.
Biology: These spiders are hunters. The female carries her young on her abdomen. These spiders can have a leg span up to four inches. They are very mobile. Wolf Spiders
will bite, but their venom is not dangerous. When they enter a home, Wolf Spiders are found running across the floors or on walls.
Identification: These spiders differ in size. They have long legs with short hairs. Their color is gray to brown to dark brown.
Control Measures: These spider are beneficial to the environment. Keeping your yard free of debris, as well as your garage, will reduce the number of spider in and around your home. These spiders can be prevented by using a residual insecticide around the exterior of your home.
